Whine/Rant
Moooaaannn…..It’s officially been one whole week since I’ve done any running or anything active. I’ve wanted to. I’ve read how others “push through” colds and stuff. But standing up from the couch has had the tendency to throw me into a coughing fit. Four of the last five nights I haven’t slept more than a couple hours at a time because of not being...
@RunningQuotes: Often hear someone say I’m not a real runner. We are all #runners, some just run faster than others.I never met a fake runner via @BartYasso

Half-training Week6Run3
2.66 miles - 35:26, 13:19 pace; 11:38, 13:13, 10:36
Had to cut this planned 3-miler short. Right around the 2-mile mark, my gut started twisting around - quite uncomfortable. Headed straight home, walking most of that last mile. And after such a strong start with a good first mile!
Oh well, rest day tomorrow before Saturday’s run.
I’ve also been getting consistent working pushups,...
runningangel asked: Oh, and I am using Missing e, a browser extension. With that installed, I click on my "following X-number of people" button on the top right of my dashboard, and the grid of Tumblr crushes appears. With Missing e, there is a "post your crushes" feature that does it automatically with just one click. Hope that helps! :)

runningangel asked: I believe it only counts heart-ing and maybe replying to other's posts. Then it tallies up the percentages of your activities on others' blogs (hearts and replies). I *think* that is how it works, though I could be wrong. However, it is skewed. Those who do not post often automatically will get less "love" because they have less activity to love, if that make sense. :)
Half-training Week6Run1
3.01 Miles - 39:44, 13:11 pace; 13:52, 13:03, 12:42
Ankle felt okay today, so I was able to gradually increase the pace with each mile as I gained confidence. Toward the end, some tweaky feeling in my right knee and hip. I guess I wouldn’t even realize I was running unless SOMEthing was hurting. ;)
And maybe one of these days I’ll remember to take a photo during a run.
Running ? Answered by Coach Jenny
Jenny Hadfield (RunnersWorld contributor and author of a couple running books) answered my running/training question on her Facebook page this morning. Sweet. :)

For some running comes to them early in life and for others it comes much later....

This. Running showed up when I needed it most. Not a minute sooner or later.

DLC Week 6 Submission
Did you push hard this week? In some ways, yes. I pushed through with the running. In other ways (like forgetting about the DLC Challenge for a few days) I was pretty lame. =/
How about your buddy? Did you stay connected? Me and my homie, Amanda, are total BFFs now! She even thinks she can be brave enough for us to “meet live” via Skype this next week.
How have you improved since...
Ummm….12 degrees (feels like -3) and snowing; ankle feeling kinda “tweaky”. I might be blurring the line between hardcore and stupid.
Half-training Wk5Run3
4.07 miles in 58:20; 14:19 Pace; 13:35, 14:37, 15:13, 14:18
Well, hallelu-yer! I took it pretty easy and cautious today, worried that I’d get pain in the foot in the first 5 minutes and have to call it off, but I got through the whole thing without any issues! In fact, mile 4 felt like I was just starting to settle in and was ready for more. I guess it took 2-3 miles for my body to say...
Half-training Wk5Run2
2.02 Miles, 29:10 Pace: 14:24; 14:08, 14:29
Bleh…GI issues and pain in left foot that made me worried PF is coming back cut this 4-miler short. I’m going to ice the foot, carefully plan my food intake, and hope to get 4 tomorrow.
Also, shoulders/arms are feeling extremely sore from attempting Day one of this pullup...
Half-training Wk5Run1
3.01 miles - 40:21, Pace: 13:24; 14:09, 13:20, 12:44 (w00t! for negative split action!)
I took it fairly easy today, as I am still recovering from last Friday. I was worried that I was going to be running in snow and single digits, so it was kind of funny to look at clear and 18 and think “Yay!” ;)
Woah… I really am changing. I just caught myself doing leg lifts in bed, cuz I thought, “Since I’m lying here, I may as well work on my abs.”

Half-training Week4Run2
4.01 miles. 46:09 - 11:30 Pace. 10:50, 13:03, 11:02, 11:08
Well, dang! Except for mile 2 (stoplight at intersection and a walk break on a steep hill), that’s the most consistent I think I’ve ever been with my splits. And my goal for the half-marathon in 2.5 months is an 11:30 pace. Tonight was supposed to be a 4-mile run at goal race pace…..uh….NAILED IT! lol…

DLC: February Goals
Weight Loss: Since I nearly doubled my January goal (which may have been set a bit too conservatively), I’m going to up the goal by a couple pounds. So I want to be down 6 more el-bees by March 1. Quantifiable: Goal weight = 183
Continue the perfect track record on MyFitnessPal. Being conscious of what (and how much) I’m putting in my body every day helps. Quantifiable: 29 days in...
DLC: January Goals Assessment
So here were my stated goals on January 1, with February 1 assessment in bold/italics beneath each:
1. Lose 1 lb per week in January; weigh 194 lbs by Feb. 1st by counting calories and running at least 4x per week. January starting weight: 198
Feb 1: Wow…maybe I underestimated. I’m at 189 now, for a loss of 9 lbs!
2. Only consume ONE soda per week. (I had kicked it before, and it...
